The procedure to link a new category to an ASB case is as follows:
- Using the Advanced search spy-glass (
), select ASB Case as the Search for and Search by category, and enter the Case Reference as the search criteria
1.
- With the Results tab in current focus, double-click on the row containing the exact record match, or return to the Criteria tab and refine the search filters. The ASB Case Details window is displayed.
- Click on Details. The Details tab is activated, revealing all reported elements of the anti-social behaviour incident in the Categories summary table.
- Click on Category Actions. The ASB Category Actions window is displayed.
- Using the Select action drop-down field, select the option New Category.
- Click on Next. The New ASB Category window is displayed.
- Using the Type and Category drop-down fields, select the ASB classification pairings to match the reported incident e.g. Vehicles and Abandoned Car, Violence and Domestic Abuse, etc.
2.
- To append further details of the anti-social behaviour to the case file, activate the Add related incident tick box provided.
- Click on Save. With the ASB Incident window displayed, record all the details pertinent to the latest incident. This optional step - triggered by the Add related incident attribute - mirrors that covered separately in the topic To create a new incident log for an ASB case.
- Click on Save. The additional classification is displayed in the Categories summary table; click on the expansion level pointer icon (
) to reveal the row detail
3.
Note
1 Additional search criteria may need to be employed (e.g. start date range, category, company, status) to ensure that the correct ASB case is returned; an alternative Search by category of Contact or Contact Group may be selected to extend the available search fields.
2 The choice of ASB type automatically filters the ASB categories available for selection.
3 All automatic tasks linked to the category workflow are also appended to the ASB case.
