The procedure to complete a category within an ASB case is as follows:
- Using the Advanced search spy-glass (
), select ASB Case as the Search for and Search by category, and enter the Case Reference as the search criteria

- With the Results tab in current focus, double-click on the row containing the exact record match, or return to the Criteria tab and refine the search filters. The ASB Case Details window is displayed.
- Click on Details. The Details tab is activated, with all category and type classification pairings for the ASB case captured in the Categories summary table.
- Highlight the row matching the category to be completed.
- Click on Category Actions. The ASB Category Actions window is displayed.
- Using the Select action drop-down field, select the option Complete Category.
- Click on Next. The Complete ASB Category window is displayed.
- Using the Completion reason drop-down field, select a parameter value to qualify the circumstances surrounding the completion of the ASB category e.g. Unsubstantiated Incident

- Use the Notes field to add contextual data in support of the ASB category being completed.
- Click on Save
3. The status of the ASB category is set to Complete

Note
1 Additional search criteria may need to be employed (e.g. start date range, category, company, status) to ensure that the correct ASB case is returned; an alternative Search by category of Contact or Contact Group may be selected to extend the available search fields.
2 These custom values can be populated by the end user via the general lookup parameter entitled ASB Category Completion Reasons.
3 System validation rules ensure that only categories with no outstanding mandatory tasks can be completed.
4 All outstanding non-mandatory tasks linked to the ASB category are automatically marked as complete.
