The procedure to update the status of a contact application is as follows:
- Using the global search facility, type in the first few characters of the application contact

- Double-click on the row containing the exact record match. Where the expected record is not listed, a more advanced search can be conducted using the spy-glass icon (
).
- Click on Contact Details. The Contact Details window is displayed for the current contact.
- Click on Application. The Application tab is activated, revealing a list of all enquiries and applications associated with the contact in the Application summary table.
- Double-click on the row containing the specific application requiring a change of status. The Application Reference window is displayed, revealing all events recorded for the application in graphical form; click on Switch View, as required, to display the events as a chronological list.
- Click on New Status. The New Status window is displayed, revealing the Current Status for the application.
- Using the New Status drop-down field, select the status to which the application will be transferred.
- Using the Reason drop-down field, select a parameter value to qualify the circumstances surrounding the status change

- Choose an Effective from date for this status change i.e. the date on which it came into effect

- Choose an Effective to date if this status change is only relevant up to a specific date.
- Click on Save. The new status event is displayed in the Application Events summary table (and graphical timeline)

- Click on Save.
Note
1 The search facility will automatically return all possible matches for a contact's first name and last name once the Number of characters before an automatic search commences system preference is reached.
2 A reason is only required in the instance where the application status is set to 'deferred'.
3 The Effective from date defaults to the current system date and cannot be left blank; a date preceding that of the current status is not permitted.
4 Switching between the two alternative display modes will reveal the change of status in the corresponding format.
