The procedure to record an appeal against an application decision is as follows:
- Using the global search facility, type in the first few characters of the application contact name

- Double-click on the row containing the exact record match. Where the expected record is not listed, a more advanced search can be conducted using the spy-glass icon (
).
- Click on Contact Details. The Contact Details window is displayed for the current contact.
- Click on Application. The Application tab is activated, revealing a list of all enquiries and applications associated with the contact in the Application summary table

- Double-click on the row containing the specific application against which an appeal has been lodged. The Application Reference window is displayed.
- Click on Suspensions and Appeals. The Suspensions and Appeals tab is activated.
- Click on New Appeal. The Appeal Details window is displayed.
- Using the Appeal type drop-down field, select a parameter value to categorise the lodged appeal e.g. Band Calculation, Medical Assessment, Immigration Status, etc.
- Use the Details field to add contextual information describing the nature of the lodged appeal; the expansion arrow (
) can be employed to increase the size of the text entry field.
- Enter the Start date using the calendar icon (
), or type in the value directly i.e. the date on which the appeals process was initiated

- Click on Save
3. The new record is displayed in the Appeals summary table.
Tip
1 Use the Left (
) and Right (
) scrolling arrows to reveal additional tabs that might be hidden from view.
Note
1 The search facility will automatically return all possible matches for a contact's first name and last name once the Number of characters before an automatic search commences system preference is reached.
2 The permitted date entry format is DD/MM/YY or DD/MM/YYYY.
3 The selected Appeal type will determine the Generic Case classification to be automatically triggered in support of the appeals process.
