To update the appeal outcome for an application

The procedure to update the appeal outcome for an application is as follows:

  1. Using the global search facility, type in the first few characters of the application contact name 1.
  2. Double-click on the row containing the exact record match. Where the expected record is not listed, a more advanced search can be conducted using the spy-glass icon ().
  3. Click on Contact Details. The Contact Details window is displayed for the current contact.
  4. Click on Application. The Application tab is activated, revealing a list of all enquiries and applications associated with the contact in the Application summary table 1.
  5. Double-click on the row containing the specific application against which an appeal has been recorded. The Application Reference window is displayed.
  6. Click on Suspensions and Appeals. The Suspensions and Appeals tab is activated, revealing all appeals lodged against the application in the Appeals summary table.
  7. Double-click on the row containing the specific appeal to be updated. The Appeal Details window is displayed, revealing the details of the lodged appeal.
  8. Enter the End date using the calendar icon (), or type in the value directly i.e. the date on which the formal appeals process was completed 2.
  9. Using the Outcome drop-down field, select a parameter value to categorise the eventual outcome of the appeals process 3.
  10. Use the Outcome details field to add contextual information describing the conclusions arising from the appeals process; the expansion arrow () can be employed to increase the size of the text entry field.
  11. Click on Save. The applied record changes are displayed in the Appeals summary table 4.


Tip

1 Use the Left () and Right () scrolling arrows to reveal additional tabs that might be hidden from view.

Note

1 The search facility will automatically return all possible matches for a contact's first name and last name once the Number of characters before an automatic search commences system preference is reached.

2 The permitted date entry format is DD/MM/YY or DD/MM/YYYY.

3 These custom values can be populated by the end user via the system parameter entitled Application Appeal Outcomes.

4 The Last updated by and Last updated date fields are automatically populated with the end user capturing the outcome of the appeal and current system date respectively.
