Social landlords are committed to providing residents with as safe an environment as possible, both inside and outside of their homes. Once an incident of anti-social behaviour has been reported and the case file is in progress, repeat offences may likely be experienced which the complainant feels encouraged to report. These exacerbating incidents can be appended to the original case file as a series of chronological events, helping to compile a full picture of the extent of the problem, as well as the personal stress that is being caused. Whilst it is always preferable to avoid legal action wherever possible, encouraging complainants to report every incident will establish a compelling case for prompt and decisive action.
Although it is desirable to capture the full details of the latest incident at the point of initial contact, further details may come to light later that were not reported at the time; hence a record of the incident can be created with only salient details, in the knowledge that additional information can be appended at a later stage. Details such as the date and time of the incident, the location where the incident took place and the events that occurred all form part of the incident log recording framework.
