To create a new asbestos detection template

The procedure to create a new asbestos detection template is as follows:

  1. Navigate to Quick Menu > Asbestos > Configuration > Configure Templates. The Configure Templates window is displayed.
  2. Click on New Template. All fields are activated ready for data entry.
  3. Enter the Template name into the field provided 1 1.
  4. Using the Asset types drop-down field, multi-select the desired parameter value subset to filter the asset classifications applicable to the asbestos detection template, or choose the All option, as required 2 2.
  5. Using the Asset characteristic type drop-down field, select the desired attribute to target the deployment of the asbestos detection template; multi-select the matching options via the adjacent Characteristic value field  3.
  6. Choose an Effective from date for this asbestos detection template i.e. the date on which it came into effect 4.
  7. Choose an Effective to date if the asbestos detection template is to be time bound; a blank field means it will be continually valid.
  8. Using the Companies drop-down field, multi-select all companies relevant to the operating boundaries of this asbestos detection template.
  9. Click on Save. The new asbestos detection template is displayed in the alphabetical list.


Tip

1 To aid in identification purposes, it is good practice to devise and uphold a consistent naming convention for all asbestos detection templates.

2 Where only a small number of parameter values are not required, activate the All tick box first and then deselect individual items from the full list, as appropriate; the All tick box will be automatically removed once an item is deselected.

Note

1 System validation rules ensure that the name entered for each asbestos detection template is unique for the effective period.

2 These custom values can be populated by the end user via the system entity entitled Asset Types.

3 These custom values can be populated by the end user via the separate Asset Characteristic Type form.

4 The Effective from date defaults to the current system date and cannot be left blank.
