To add a location to an asbestos detection template

The procedure to add a location to an asbestos detection template is as follows:

  1. Navigate to Quick Menu > Asbestos > Configuration > Configure Templates. The Configure Templates window is displayed.
  2. Select an asbestos detection template from the hierarchical list, or type its name into the Search for Configure Templates field. By default the list is filtered to show Current templates. An alternative filter can be applied using the Select view drop-down field: Expired, Future or All 1.
  3. Click on New Location. All fields are activated ready for data entry.
  4. Using the Level drop-down field, select the storey relevant to the asbestos detection area e.g. Ground Floor, Middle Floor, Upper Floor, etc.
  5. Using the Room drop-down field, select the room relevant to the asbestos detection area e.g. Kitchen, Bathroom, Loft, etc.
  6. Using the Location drop-down field, pinpoint the exact whereabouts of the asbestos detection area e.g. Heating Duct, Ceiling, Wall, etc.
  7. Using the Status drop-down field, select a parameter value to capture the information gathered on the specific asbestos instance e.g. No asbestos detected, Asbestos removed, Presumed asbestos free, Asbestos confirmed, etc.
  8. Choose an Effective from date for this asbestos location entry i.e. the date on which the record came into effect 2.
  9. Choose an Effective to date if the asbestos location entry is to be reviewed on a specific date or to capture a change of circumstances; a blank field means the record will be continually valid.
  10. Using the Companies drop-down field, multi-select all companies relevant to the operating boundaries of this asbestos location entry, or choose the All option, as required 1.
  11. Click on Save. The new asbestos location is displayed in the hierarchical list, underneath the matching template, level and room headings.


Tip

1 Where only a small number of parameter values are not required, activate the All tick box first and then deselect individual items from the full list, as appropriate; the All tick box will be automatically removed once an item is deselected.

Note

1 The Search for Configure Templates field will match against any element of the template name.

2 The Effective from date defaults to the current system date and cannot be left blank.
