To create a new asbestos damage classification

Parent Previous Next

The procedure to create a new asbestos damage classification is as follows:

  1. Navigate to Quick Menu > Asbestos > Configuration > Configure Materials Scoring. The Configure Materials Scoring window is displayed.
  2. Click on New Damage. The Add Extent of Damage window is displayed.
  3. Enter a Description for the new asbestos damage classification into the field provided e.g. Moderate Damage, Severe Damage, No Visible Damage, etc. 1.
  4. Use the Score field to assign a material assessment weighting to the asbestos damage classification. The Up and Down arrows are available to increment or decrement the value, as required.
  5. Use the Code field to abbreviate the asbestos damage classification, as a prerequisite for customised reporting layouts.
  6. Using the Companies drop-down field, multi-select all companies relevant to the operating boundaries of this asbestos damage classification, or choose the All option, as required 1.
  7. Choose an Effective from date for this asbestos damage classification i.e. the date on which it came into effect 2.
  8. Choose an Effective to date if the parameter is to be time bound; a blank field means the asbestos damage classification will be continually valid.
  9. Click on Save. The new parameter entry appears in the Extent of Damage grid 3.

Tip

1 Where only a small number of parameter values are not required, activate the All tick box first and then deselect individual items from the full list, as appropriate; the All tick box will be automatically removed once an item is deselected.

Note

1 System validation rules ensure that the description entered for each asbestos damage classification is unique for the selected company within the effective period.

2 The Effective from date defaults to the current system date and cannot be left blank.

3 The list position of the parameter is governed by the incrementally assigned Value.
