The procedure to configure the field components of a PIMSS4Communities data extract definition is as follows:
- Navigate to Quick Menu > System > Configuration > PIMSS Export Configuration. The PIMSS Export Management window is displayed.
- Expand the PIMSS Export heading and linked export type before selecting an associated data extract definition from the alphabetical list, or type its name into the Search Exports field. By default the list is filtered to show Current exports. An alternative filter can be applied using the Select view drop-down field: Expired, Future or All combinations

- With all prescribed field components displayed in the Fields to include summary table, double-click on the row matching the first field to be included in the export definition. The Edit Field window is displayed, revealing the name of the selected component.
- To Include the selected field in the export definition, activate the corresponding tick box provided.
- Amend the XML Tag data label, as appropriate, to reflect the preferred naming convention i.e. the element name to be used in the XML file structure 2.
- Click on Save. The amended attributes of the field component are reflected in the Fields to include summary table.
- Repeat steps 3 through 6 to specify the data export requirements for all remaining field components.

1 The Search Exports field will match against any element of the data extract definition name.
2 Whilst each XML Tag is automatically assigned a default label, these can be adjusted in line with field properties dictated by PIMSS4Communities.
