To apply a service charge calculation model

Parent Previous Next

The procedure to apply a service charge calculation model is as follows:

  1. Navigate to Quick Menu > Service Charges > Management > Calculations. The Service Charge Calculation window is displayed.
  2. Expand a calculation type subheading from within the nested calendar period and select an associated calculation scenario, or enter its name into the Search Calculations field. By default the list is filtered to show All calculation scenarios. An alternative filter can be applied using the Select view drop-down field: In Progress, Under Consultation, Applied, Invoiced, Cancelled or Adjustment Applied to Rent Accounts 1.
  3. Click on Models 2. The Models tab is activated.
  4. Using the Model drop-down field, select the model in which uplift parameters have been applied to the elemental components. All service charge elements included within the model are displayed in the Model Details summary table, including the proposed increase rates (by percentage or value).
  5. Click on Calculate. Once complete, the successful calculation outcome is supported by an end user notification message.
  6. Click on Cost Element Results. The proposed service charge values derived through the calculation model are displayed in the Cost Element Results summary table and the status is set to Calculated.
  7. Repeat steps 3 through 6 to calculate and analyse the service charge values for an alternative model 3.
  8. Click on Close.

Note

1 The Search Calculations field will match against any element of the calculation scenario description.

2 This option applies only to Estimate calculation types operating under a Model calculation method.

3 Any number of calculation models may be applied and maintained to reflect different scenarios of possible service charge increases; use the Model drop-down field to toggle between these alternative scenarios.
