To link a new activity to a homelessness case

The procedure to link a new activity to a homelessness case is as follows:

  1. Using the Advanced search spy-glass (), select Homelessness Case as the Search for and Search by category, and enter the Case ID as the search criteria 1.
  2. With the Results tab in current focus, double-click on the row containing the exact record match, or return to the Criteria tab and refine the search filters. The Homelessness Case Details window is displayed.
  3. Click on Prevention Activities, Assessment Activities or Reviews, as appropriate 2. The Prevention Activities / Assessment Activities / Reviews tab is activated.
  4. Click on New Activity. The New Activity window is displayed.
  5. Enter an activity description into the dynamic search field provided, or click on Show All Activities to bypass the filtering option. All possible matches are returned in the Search Results summary table 3.
  6. Highlight the row matching the desired activity to be included within the homelessness case 4.
  7. Optionally, using the Contact drop-down field, select the specific group member to which the activity relates 5.
  8. Click on Save. The chosen activity is displayed in the Activities summary table; all inherent tasks within the activity workflow structure are automatically transferred to the homelessness case.


Note

1 Additional search criteria may need to be employed (e.g. start date range, company, status, category) to ensure that the correct homelessness case is returned; an alternative Search by category of Contact or Contact Group may be selected to extend the available search fields.

2 Custom categories linked to the homelessness case, and therefore the overarching master category, will determine the availability of the Assessment Activities tab; furthermore, the Reviews tab only becomes active once a Decision Date is recorded for the current assessment record.

3 The field will operate as a dynamic search function and match against any element of the activity description based on the successive characters entered.

4 Only those activity definitions matching the relevant homelessness case classification for the selected tab - Advice and Prevention Activity, Assessment Activity or Review Activity - will displayed.

5 This option is only displayed in the instance where the activity is linked to the Applicable to contact attribute.
