The procedure to create a new information management consent type is as follows:
- Navigate to Quick Menu > Information Management > Configuration > Information Management Configuration. The Information Management Configuration window is displayed.
- With the Consent Types tab in current focus, click on New Consent Type. The Consent Type window is displayed.

1.

3. The Up and Down arrows are available to increment or decrement the value, as required.

4.
- Choose an Effective to date if the consent type is to be reassessed on a specific date or to capture a change of circumstances; a blank field means the parameter will never expire.
- Click on Confirm. The new information management parameter is displayed in the Consent Types summary table.
- Repeat steps 2 through 11 to add further consent types within the information management framework.
- Click on Save.
Tip
1 Where only a small number of parameter values are not required, activate the All tick box first and then deselect individual items from the full list, as appropriate; the All tick box will be automatically removed once an item is deselected.
Note
1 System validation rules ensure that the description entered for each new consent type is unique for the effective period.
2 These custom values can be populated by the end user via the general lookup parameter entitled Consent Categories.
3 By way of example, if a twelve month review cycle was required for an information management consent type, a Review period of '12' would be inserted, coinciding with a Review period unit of 'Months'.
4 The Effective from date defaults to the current system date and cannot be left blank.
