To create a new energy performance scenario

Parent Previous Next

The most effective way to tackle fuel poverty is to improve the energy efficiency of housing stock, and through the creation and management of alternative energy performance scenarios, the housing organisation can accurately assess the positive impact of implementing targeted energy efficiency improvements, as well as understanding the full cost implications.

The procedure to create a new energy performance scenario is as follows:

  1. Navigate to Quick Menu > Asset Management > Configuration > Scenario Manager. The Scenario Manager window is displayed.
  2. Click on New Scenario 1. All fields are activated ready for data entry.
  3. Enter a Description for the energy performance scenario into the field provided 2.
  4. Using the Scenario type drop-down field, select the applicable focus area for the scenario modelling activity i.e. Energy.
  5. Use the Notes field to add contextual information relevant to the purpose and scope of the energy performance scenario.
  6. Choose an Effective from date for this energy performance scenario i.e. the date on which it came into effect 3.
  7. Choose an Effective to date if the energy performance scenario is to be time bound; a blank field means its utilisation for energy modelling activities is continually valid.
  8. Using the Companies drop-down field, multi-select all companies relevant to the operating boundaries of this energy performance scenario, or choose the All option, as required 1.
  9. Click on Save. The new energy performance scenario is displayed in the alphabetical list.

Tip

1 Where only a small number of parameter values are not required, activate the All tick box first and then deselect individual items from the full list, as appropriate; the All tick box will be automatically removed once an item is deselected.

Note

1 Upon first access, all fields are automatically activated ready for data entry; hence the New Scenario button is inactive.

2 System validation rules ensure that the description entered for each new energy performance scenario is unique for the selected company within the effective period.

3 The Effective from date defaults to the current system date and cannot be left blank.
