As the variations in required planned programme templates may be only minimal, it is possible to clone existing templates, retaining all the attributes and configuration settings for the applicable SOR table, stock condition component, repair types, linked SOR codes, etc. and apply the required changes to the new copy, thus saving time and effort.
The procedure to clone a planned programme template is as follows:
- Navigate to Quick Menu > Planned & Servicing Lite > Configuration > Planned Program Template. The Planned Program Template Management window is displayed.
- Select a SOR template from the alphabetic list or type its name into the Search Templates field. By default the list is filtered to show Current templates. An alternative filter can be applied using the Select view drop-down field: Expired, Future or All combinations
1.
- Click on Clone Template. The Planned Program Template Management window is populated with all the attributes of the source SOR template.
- Enter a Template name for the new planned works instruction into the field provided
2.
- Using the SOR table drop-down field, ensure that the selected Schedule of Rates table, containing all work instructions relevant to a planned programme, is still valid for the cloned SOR template and apply any required change.
- Using the Update rule drop-down field, ensure that the selected rule, applied to the underlying asset management configuration database on completion of the resulting works orders, is still valid for the cloned SOR template and apply any required change.
- Using the Component drop-down field, ensure that the stock condition focus area is still valid for the cloned SOR template and apply any required change.
- Using the Repair drop-down field, ensure that the selected repair element linked to the chosen component is still valid for the cloned SOR template and apply any required change.
- Using the Apply to drop-down field, ensure that all selected repair types are still relevant to the planned works instruction and apply any required changes.
- Amend the Effective from date for this cloned SOR template i.e. the date on which it came into effect.
- Amend the Effective to date if the SOR template content is to be reviewed on a specific date or to capture a change of circumstances; a blank field means the cloned template will be continually valid.
- Click on Save.
Note
1 The Search Templates field will match against any element of the planned programme template name.
2 System validation rules ensure that the name entered for each new SOR template is unique for the effective period.
