The procedure to view the calculated service charge cost element results is as follows:
1.
1. Certain fields are worthy of special note and are captured in the table below
2.
3.
4. To qualify the legitimacy of any applied changes, an Override reason must also be selected using the adjacent drop-down field
5.
) can be employed to increase the size of the text entry field.
Tip
1 By default, all results are displayed alphabetically, first by 'cost centre' and then by 'cost element'; to aid in identification and analysis, rows can be reordered by clicking on any of the available headings.
Note
1 The Search Calculations field will match against any element of the calculation scenario description.
2 A subset of fields are visible by default; additional fields pertinent to the calculation type can be revealed or hidden via the Menu option.
3 For Manual and Import calculation methods, the proposed service charge values are displayed instantly, using the manually input or imported figures.
4 Whilst the derivation of proposed service charges through a defined calculation provides a good foundation for the final values, there will invariably be a need for fine tuning; hence it is possible to override individual figures at cost element level.
5 These custom values can be populated by the end user via the general lookup parameter entitled Service Charge Calculation Results Override Reasons.
Field |
Description |
Calculation Type |
Cost centre |
The description of the cost centre pertinent to the service charge calculation result. |
All calculation types |
Cost element |
The cost element to which the service charge calculation result applies. |
All calculation types |
Base basic charge |
The current charge for the cost element, excluding any brought forward balance from the previous period. |
Estimate or Adjustment |
Base balancing charge |
The current surplus or deficit balance for the cost element, brought forward from the previous period. |
Estimate or Adjustment |
Base total charge |
The current combined charge for the cost element i.e. a summation of the Base basic charge and Base balancing charge figures. |
Estimate or Adjustment |
Proposed basic charge |
The proposed estimated or adjusted charge for this period (excluding any brought forward balance), derived through the calculation scenario. |
Estimate or Adjustment |
Proposed B/F balancing charge |
The proposed surplus or deficit balance brought forward from the previous period. |
Estimate or Adjustment |
Proposed total charge |
The summation of the Proposed basic charge and Proposed B/F balancing charge figures used to calculate the estimated or adjusted results for this period. |
Estimate or Adjustment |
% Increase |
The percentage by which the current total charge has increased as a result of the calculation. |
Estimate or Adjustment |
B/F balancing charge |
The surplus or deficit balance brought forward from the previous period. |
Actual |
Estimated charge |
The baseline projection figure used to calculate the final result. |
Actual |
Total estimated charge |
The summation of the B/F balancing charge and Estimated charge figures used to calculate the final result. |
Actual |
Proposed actual charge |
The projected final charge, derived through the calculation scenario, excluding any balance brought forward from the previous period. |
Actual |
Total proposed actual charge |
The projected final charge, derived through the calculation scenario, including any balance brought forward from the previous period. |
Actual |
Balancing charge to C/F |
The final combined charge to be carried forward into a future scenario, applicable only in the instance where an estimated calculation is used as a baseline projection. |
Actual |
