To update the planned work status for an asset record

Parent Previous Next

A series of prescribed status code values are used to steer the progression of all planned works, say, from a provisional proposal right through to final fulfilment and completion. Whilst some status codes will be triggered automatically as a consequence of specific events within the lifecycle of the planned works, others can be activated manually at the discretion of the end user, for instance following the outcome of a site survey.

The procedure to update the planned work status for an asset record is as follows:

  1. Using the global search facility, type in the first few characters of the asset address 1.
  2. With the results displayed in the Asset tab, double-click on the row containing the exact record match. Where the expected record is not listed, a more advanced search can be conducted using the spy-glass icon ().
  3. Click on Asset Details. The Asset Details window is displayed for the current asset.
  4. Click on Planned and Completed Work 1. The Planned and Completed Work tab is activated, revealing all recorded Planned Work entries in the corresponding data grid.
  5. Double-click on the row matching the specific planned work entry to be assigned an alternative status progression value. The Planned and Completed Work Details window is displayed, revealing previously captured details pertinent to the planned work record.
  6. Click on Update Status. The Update Status window is displayed.
  7. Using the Status drop-down field, select a prescribed parameter value to reflect the latest status of the planned work entry i.e. Completed, Confirmed, Pending, Provisional, Rejected, etc. 2.
  8. Choose an Effective from date for this planned work status change i.e. the date on which it came into effect 3.
  9. Choose an Effective to date if this latest planned work status is to be time bound; a blank field means it will be continually valid.
  10. Click on Save.

Tip

1 Use the Left () and Right () scrolling arrows to reveal additional tabs that might be hidden from view.

Note

1 The search facility will return all possible matches for any corresponding address field once the Number of characters before an automatic search commences system preference is reached.

2 The adjacent Status set by field is automatically updated with the name of the system user.

3 The Effective from date defaults to the current system date and cannot be left blank.
