To set the period of warranty cover for an equipment item

The procedure to set the period of warranty cover for an equipment item is as follows:

1. Using the global search facility, type in the first few characters of the asset address 1.
2. With the results displayed in the Asset tab, double-click on the row containing the exact record match. Where the expected record is not listed, a more advanced search can be conducted using the spy-glass icon ().
3. Click on Asset Details. The Asset Details window is displayed for the current asset.
4. Click on Equipment Register 1. The Equipment Register tab is activated, revealing those Equipment items that are pertinent to the asset record in current focus, as displayed in the corresponding grid.
5. Double-click on the specific equipment item against which the period of warranty cover is to be recorded.
6. Scroll down to the Warranty grid and double-click on the relevant entry to capture the period of cover. The Warranty Details window is displayed.
7. Click on New Period. The Warranty Period window is displayed.
8. Enter a Description for the period of warranty cover into the field provided.
9. Enter the Period value into the field provided i.e. the unit multiplier to determine the duration of cover. The Up and Down arrows are available to increment or decrement the value, as required.
10. Using the Type drop-down field, select an appropriate frequency unit for the warranty cover period i.e. Days, Months, or Years.
11. Enter the total Cover value included within the warranty period into the field provided.
12. Enter the policy Excess value into the field provided i.e. the contribution made by the social landlord in the event of a warranty claim.
13. Choose an Effective from date for this warranty cover period i.e. the date on which it came into effect 2.
14. Choose an Effective to date if the warranty cover period entry is to be time bound; a blank field means the record will be continually valid.
15. Click on Save. The new Warranty Period is displayed in the corresponding grid.

Tip

1 Use the Left () and Right () scrolling arrows to reveal additional tabs that might be hidden from view.

Note

1 The search facility will return all possible matches for any corresponding address field once the Number of characters before an automatic search commences system preference is reached.

2 The Effective from date defaults to the current system date and cannot be left blank.
