To reopen a closed home buy case

The procedure to reopen a closed home buy case is as follows:

  1. Using the Advanced search spy-glass (), select Home Buy Case as the Search for and Search by category, and enter the Case ID as the search criteria 1.
  2. With the Results tab in current focus, double-click on the row containing the exact record match, or return to the Criteria tab and refine the search filters. The Home Buy Case Details window is displayed.
  3. Click on Details. The Details tab is activated.
  4. Click on Case Actions. The Home Buy Case Actions window is displayed.
  5. Using the Select action drop-down field, select the specific status progression value of Reopen Case 2.
  6. Click on Next. The Reopen Home Buy Case window is displayed.
  7. Using the Reopen reason drop-down field, select a parameter value to qualify the circumstances surrounding the home buy case being reopened.
  8. Use the Notes field to add contextual data in support of the home buy case being reopened.
  9. Click on Next. The Home Buy Case Assignment window is displayed, ready to assign ownership for the reopened case.
  10. Using the New owner drop-down field, select the desired user account to whom the reopened home buy case will be assigned.
  11. Using the New manager drop-down field, select the user account to whom managerial responsibility for the reopened home buy case will be assigned 3.
  12. Click on Save. The home buy case status is set to Open, ready to assign an appropriate progression stage as the starting point for further activities. This requisite step is covered separately in the topic To link a new stage to a home buy case.


Note

1 Additional search criteria may need to be employed (e.g. start and end date ranges, type, stage, company, status) to ensure that the correct home buy case is returned; an alternative Search by category of Contact or Contact Group may be selected to extend the available search fields.

2 This option is only active for home buy cases that are set to a status of Closed.

3 The subset of user accounts is compiled from those with Responsible status for any group to which the new owner is a member.
