To assign an additional category to a homelessness case

Parent Previous Next

The procedure to assign an additional category to a homelessness case is as follows:

  1. Using the Advanced search spy-glass (), select Homelessness Case as the Search for and Search by category, and enter the Case ID as the search criteria 1.
  2. With the Results tab in current focus, double-click on the row containing the exact record match, or return to the Criteria tab and refine the search filters. The Homelessness Case Details window is displayed.
  3. With the Summary tab in current focus, click on Case Actions. The Case Actions window is displayed.
  4. Using the Select action drop-down field, select the specific status progression value of New Category.
  5. Click on Next. The New Category window is displayed, revealing the current custom category linked to the homelessness case.
  6. Using the New category drop-down field, select the desired custom value to reflect the next progression phase and focus of the homelessness case, steered by the overarching master status classification i.e. Prevention and Relief or Homelessness 2.
  7. Use the Notes field to add contextual information in support of the newly assigned custom category.
  8. Click on Save. The Case Assignment window is displayed, ready to assign ownership for this latest category 3. This requisite step mirrors the procedure covered separately in the topic To allocate an owner to a homelessness case.
  9. With the Summary tab once again in current focus, the assigned category is captured as a new event in the Case Summary table.

Note

1 Additional search criteria may need to be employed (e.g. start and end date ranges, company, status, category) to ensure that the correct homelessness case is returned; an alternative Search by category of Contact or Contact Group may be selected to extend the available search fields.

2 The system preference Allow Prevention and Homelessness Categories on same case governs the permitted use of mixed categories within a single case file i.e. those with different master status classifications.

3 This option is only activated in the instance where no allocation rules have been defined for the selected custom category.
