The procedure to add a points rule to an automatically assigned allocation priority is as follows:
- Prerequisite procedural steps are covered separately in the topic To create an automatically assigned points based allocation priority. Refer to these before proceeding to step 2.
- Navigate to Quick Menu > Allocations > Configuration > Allocation Priority Setup. The Allocation Setup window is displayed.
- Expand a points priority type heading from the alphabetical list and select an associated allocation priority, or type its name into the Search Allocation Priorities field. By default the list is filtered to show Current allocation priorities. An alternative filter can be applied using the Select view drop-down field: Expired, Future or All combinations
1.
- Click on Points (if not already selected). The Points tab is activated.
- Click on Add Points Rule. The Points Rule Setup window is displayed.
- Click on Statement Builder. The Statement Builder For Points Conditions window is displayed.
- Enter a Validation tag into the field provided by expanding the entity heading and selecting the desired field. Alternatively, typing the name into the Search Tags field will find all possible matches
2.
- Using the Expression drop-down field, select an appropriate value ( = <> < <= > >= In) for the condition.
- Enter the matching Condition into the field provided. Text and values should be entered directly i.e. without quotation marks.
- Click on And/Or to add a further condition to the same statement function. Use the drop-down field to change the expression operator. By default, And is displayed.
- Repeat step 10 to add further conditions, as required, adjusting the Order number to control the sequence of execution. The Up and Down arrows are available to increment or decrement the value, as required.
- Click on End Condition and Save
3. The statement identifier is displayed in the Rule field.
- Enter the numeric Points Value into the field provided i.e. the number of points conditionally assigned to the allocation priority.
- Choose an Effective from date for this conditional points assignment i.e. the date on which it came into effect
4.
- Choose an Effective to date if the conditional points assignment is to be reviewed on a specific date or to capture a change of circumstances; a blank field means the points assignment will be continually valid.
- Click on Confirm. The new points assignment rule is displayed in the summary table
5.
- Click on Save.
Note
1 The Search Allocation Priorities field will match against any element of the priority name.
2 The entity values available for selection are filtered according to the relevant module.
3 To remove an existing condition statement, select the corresponding row in the condition summary table and click on Remove And/Or Condition.
4 The Effective from date defaults to the current system date and cannot be left blank.
5 To amend the details of an existing points assignment rule, expand the points priority heading, select an associated allocation priority (or type its name into the Search Allocation Priorities field), double-click on the desired points rule in the summary table and repeat steps 6 through 17.
